Investing with our guests’ well-being in mind
The Tschuggen Hotel Group proceed to invest continually and extensively in its premises, focusing on comfort, interior design and spa facilities to embrace the state-of-the-art and delight its guests time and time again. Since 2000 numerous and extensive projects have been initiated and completed.
Investments at Tschuggen Grand Hotel
From April 2004 to December 2006 it commissioned the internationally renowned Swiss architect Mario Botta to create the Tschuggen Bergoase spa, an architectural masterpiece built into the mountain rock. Similarly, all the hotel’s 130 rooms and suites were redesigned with luxurious and vibrant colourful furnishings at the hands of interior designer Carlo Rampazzi. The commissioning of the hotel’s very own mountain railway, the Tschuggen Express, was a world premiere; it has been in operation since February 2009, offering guests a most convenient ski-in and ski-out. Following the extensive investments of previous years the final milestone in the renewal of the Tschuggen Grand Hotel as a modern grand hotel was laid in 2011 with the complete renovation of many areas of the ground floor.
On time for winter season 2015/16 the hotel opens with a complete new basement floor. Besides a new restaurant, guests find as well a modern ski shop with air conditioned ski lockers and a new designed kids club.
Investments at Hotel Valsana
Reopening December 2017
The hotel Valsana reopens in winter 2017 boasting 40 rooms and nine family apartments accompanied by a wellness area and a restaurant with a large sun terrace as well as eleven freehold apartments. The modern indoor tennis court on the site remains part of the hotel offer. On the basement of the building there are placed shopping facilities such as a sports shop, the Arosa Medical Centre and a spacious parking garage.
Investments at Carlton Hotel
Another major project was the complete renovation of the Carlton Hotel in the elegant resort of St. Moritz in 2006/2007. Together with the Swiss interior designer Carlo Rampazzi the luxury establishment was transformed into a true gem over the course of the 18-month renovation phase: 60 spaciously appointed junior suites and suites, two restaurants and a 1200 sqm spa extending over three floors.
Winter 2012/2013 sees the opening of the Carlton Penthouse on the top floor of the 5-star hotel; with a total surface area of 386 sqm, it is the largest suite in St. Moritz.
Investments at Hotel Eden Roc
The merging of the two building elements of the Hotel Eden Roc and the adjoining Europe au Lac in 2000 and the subsequent expansion in 2010 with the Eden Roc Marina has resulted in an extensive resort right on the shores of Lake Maggiore with its own private bathing area, spacious landing stage, 95 luxury rooms and suites, four restaurants and the 2000 sqm Eden Roc Spa. In design terms Carlo Rampazzi has once again produced a stunning finish featuring unconventional colour combinations and striking shapes in three different styles. The resort’s most recent addition, the sporty Eden Roc Marina complete with terrace and lounge, private boat landing stages and a vast range of water sports, has since become a major attraction in Ascona. Since summer 2016 the water sports facilities are extended with sailing dinghies, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and a renewed private beach. The perfect location for relaxed private barbecues.
During the last winters 2014/2015, 2015/16 and 2016/17 some 60 of the hotel’s rooms were completely redesigned.
Investments at Albergo Carcani
The most recent project has been the five-month complete renovation of the Hotel Carcani in Ascona, which re-opened in spring 2012 as a modern 3-star hotel with 29 rooms and a Ristorante right on Ascona’s main piazza. Since the opening several small renovations have been taken place at the hotel and the restaurant.
