The 2019 Michelin Guide has awarded Hotel Eden Roc’s restaurant La Brezza its first Michelin star. With this award, each of Tschuggen Hotel Group’s three five-star hotels now has a Michelin-starred restaurant.
This is the first Michelin star for head chef Marco Campanella, and the third Michelin star for Tschuggen Hotel Group. With this award, each of Tschuggen Hotel Group’s three five-star hotels – the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz, and Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona – now has a Michelin-starred restaurant.
“This terrace surrounded by the lush gardens of the Hotel Eden Roc boasts magnificent views of the lake,” reads the Michelin guide. “The new chef here creates fresh, imaginative and colorful Mediterranean cuisine that appeals to the eyes and the palate, with fish from the lake also featured on the menu. Attentive and elegant service with a friendly touch immediately puts guests at ease.”
Chef Marco Campanella has been impressing guests of La Brezza with his imaginative creations since the summer of 2017. He was named French restaurant guide Gault Millau's "Rising Star of the Year 2018” as well as their “Ticino Discovery of the Year 2019.” His Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is a welcome departure from more traditional Swiss mountain cuisine, rounding out the hotel group’s culinary offerings among its portfolio of restaurants.
Campanella’s inventive dishes are complemented by La Brezza’s spectacular wine list, curated by sommelier and restaurant manager Giulio Bernardi. The wine list includes an impressive selection of old-world producers, Champagne vintages, and local and regional wines.
The Carlton Hotel St. Moritz’s acclaimed Italian restaurant Da Vittorio, an outpost of the Cerea brothers’ original three Michelin-starred establishment in Lombardy, Italy, received a Michelin star in its own right in 2014. The haute alpine cuisine of Chef Uwe Seegert earned the Tschuggen Grand Hotel’s La Vetta its star in 2012.Download text
