Siblings Otto and Marie Herwig opened the Berghilf Sanatorium on the site of today's Tschuggen Grand Hotel.
1929/30

1966
A major fire laid the entire Tschuggen Grand Hotel, which was closed for the off-season, to waste. Fortunately nobody was injured.
1970
The Tschuggen reopened after four years of reconstruction.

1980
The Kipp-Bechtolsheimer family acquired the Tschuggen Grand Hotel and established the Tschuggen Hotel Group.

2006
After two-and-a-half years’ construction work, the Tschuggen Bergoase, a spa paradise on 5000 m2 designed by Mario Botta, opened.
